This car
I picked up from my dad back in October 2002. There was not enough room for the
car at his house and it was worth more to me than he could sell it for so now
its mine. It is a 1993 Ford Probe GT 5-speed, DOHC V6. This car has been though
a lot, tips to Wyoming,
Thunder
Hill, 100 miles of driving to a day to Knightsen,
CA, for work, the list goes on. This car is really amazing for that it is. It's
inputs are all so dialed, the way the steering feels, clutch pressure, brake
pressure, shifter... Seats I am looking to transplant into the Datsun as well.
They have good support and are mechanically adjustable. The modifications to
this car are minimal but they are as listed below.
I sold the blue car 7.22.06. It was pretty sad to let her go
but I believe she went to a good place. The guy I sold it to seems to want to
fix it up and drive it. Not beat it up and wreck it. He says he will keep me
posted on its progress which will show up here too if I get more information.

Whom ever, not naming names, owned
this car before me had a habit of heavy late braking and warped rotors beyond
turnability. The most cost effective replacement were some drilled/slotted
rotors from Ebay. I of course had to paint the calipers with VHT brand caliper
paint. Just looks neat, no other reason. |
Thunder Hill
October 25, 2005
This was my first time on a race track and boy, if I had time to sleep the night
before I don't think I would have. The night before was drag racing at
Sacramento raceway and I did not get home till after 1am. luckily this was
daylight savings time or whatnot and I got an extra hour to sleep before getting
up at 4:00am to go to willows. Nicole had arrived to my house sometime around
11:00 pm so she could get some rest. We got 4 20min sessions some I had my
instructor with me and some we were playing lead-follow. My progress was very
good I think. I learned a lot about braking. I had refrained from what I think
of as panic braking on the street at all costs and it seems like that is all you
are doing at the track so I had to get used to that. Coming into turn 10 was an
extreme example. As well as into 14. My favorite would have to be the
backstretch of turn 6-9 because of its wide fast turns and the application of
the straightest line. Turn 5/5a is sort of like a mini corkscrew, it gives you
that eerie falling feeling where you cant see where you are going until you are
already there. I left feeling a great sense of accomplishment. I also got a new friend Two
Stroke (Yang Tang) who was my instructor. Nicole was very supportive at the
track as she always is at my events she is the best wife out there I'm tellin
ya!
