This day started off way better than Thunder Hill did. We stayed in a motel in Salinas to cut down pre- race commute from 2 hours to 15mins. Staging up for the first run out with the Camaro was a feeling I can not describe. For those of you who know me well you know how much hard work, time and money I have put in this car and to see it out on one of the most important tracks in history is just amazing to me. Throughout the day the track did get a mist of rain but the lines dried up fairly fast. I noticed right away that my brakes were NOT as good as the ones in the blue car and it did limit my acceleration in the straights quite a bit. The cornering ability of the Camaro surpassed my expectations by far and I was pretty stoked about that. I had JUST finished  a huge fuel system / rear sway bar project and it was awesome to feel it pay off. The sway bar project could have made the car handle worse by causing excessive oversteer but it seems to be set up just right! My favorite turn was of course turn 8, the corkscrew, but it was by far not my best. I had a tendency to stay wide on the second part of the turn but I got better as the day went on. My best section I think was coming out of turn 3 into and out of 4. This one was good for me because it had a lot of room for a great line and it finishes up a hill and I just love going up hills! (Bollinger road to club sport comes to mind!). This was Boris' first track day and he couldn't have been more excited. You will see his car in a lot of my pictures, its a 05 STI. I gave rides to my friend Dan and Nicole and they seemed to enjoy it. Nicole once again was a big support for me at the track I was getting kind of frustrated with my brake issue and her and Dan made me feel way better about it. At the end of this event I told myself I wouldn't return to a road course until I had gotten a new brake system and possibly tires.
